It looks like the New York Knicks might be interested in pursuing 2x NBA champion Andrew Bynum. He has played a total of 26 games since he left the Lakers at the end of the 2012 season. In those 26 he averaged 9.9 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game which is almost a double-double. But after averaging 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in an All-Star season for the Lakers it seems like nothing special.
Don't get me wrong, everyone knows at one point in his career Andrew Bynum could play, and play well. But with all of the injuries he's had since then and all of the lack of time on the court, he is a risky pickup for any team. On December 28, 2013 Andrew Bynum even said "He doesn't want to play basketball anymore. He never liked it that much in first place." Pretty amazing huh? Goes from an All-Star and debatably the best Center in the NBA to hating the sport.
When I posted this @PaperEqualPower on Twitter said "OKC or Miami should and they could get him CHEAP" this is an extremely good point. The Heat have somewhat been known to pick up players like Andrew Bynum, Greg Oden for example. The Thunder would also be a nice place for Bynum, he would be mostly sitting on the bench. Although he does bring a lot of experience and a lead by example type of leadership to the table. Kind of like a player by the name of Juwan Howard on the Heat.
Is Andrew Bynum washed up? You decide.
